Ukraine harvests 33.7 million tons of grain
As of August 15, 2011, Ukraine harvested 33.75 million tons of grain on an area of almost 11.06 million hectares (98% of the forecast), out of the projected 11.415 million hectares, and the average yield of grain and leguminous crops is 30.5 quintals per hectare, according to the Ukrainian Agricultural Policy and Food Ministry. According to initial reports, farmers also threshed 3.39 million tons of winter barley from 1.18 million hectares (99.9% of the forecast) and 6.06 million tons of spring barley from 2.48 million hectares (99%). The average yield is 28.6 quintals per hectare and 24.3 quintals per hectare respectively.

22.05.12 - Ukraine is seeking to reach agreement with Saudi Arabia on supplying as much as 4 million metric tons of barley to the Middle East country, Agriculture Minister Mykola Prysyazhnyuk said.
