SABMiller's Czech brewer adds $8.8m plastic bottle filling line
Plzenský Prazdroj, a Czech brewer owned by SABMiller, has added a plastic-bottle filling line and is now testing it. The line, worth approximately CZK150m ($8.8m), can produce a maximum of 18000 bottles per hour. The Czech brewery offers Velkopopovický Kozel, Primus and Klasik brands in plastic bottles. The brewery said the plastic bottles it uses protect the beer against light and oxidation. With export to more than 50 countries, Plzenský Prazdroj had total sales of 9.9 million hectoliters in 2010 calender year.
