SABMiller Intends to Stick With South African Gaming Venture
SABMiller Plc, the world’s second- largest brewer, has no immediate plans to dump its South African gaming assets after the proposed merger of its Tsogo Sun Holdings Ltd. unit with Gold Reef Resorts Ltd. SABMiller will keep its 39.7 percent stake in the enlarged company for at least six months after the transaction, Gold Reef Chief Executive Officer Stephen Joffe said today. “I don’t know if they are a seller after that.” SABMiller spokesman Jonathan Oates said there is “no short- or medium-term intention to dispose of any shares in the new combined entity.”
