SABMiller’s Tanzanian Unit Posts 77% Rise in First-Half Net
SABMiller Plc’s Tanzanian unit said first-half profit jumped 77 percent as sales increased. Net income surged to 74.7 billion shillings ($45 million) in the six months through September, from 42.2 billion shillings a year earlier, Tanzania Breweries Ltd. said in an e-mailed statement published in the Dar es Salaam-based Guardian newspaper today. Sales climbed 32 percent to 386.5 billion shillings, it said.
