RBS sells GB pub network for £422 million to Heineken
Royal Bank of Scotland has sold a 918-strong pub network back to previous owner Scottish & Newcastle, now part of Heineken, in a £422 million deal as chief executive Stephen Hester continues to slim down the bank’s balance sheet. The acquisition of the Galaxy Pub Estate gives Scottish & Newcastle Pub Company full control of 80 more pubs in Scotland, including 26 in Edinburgh and 16 in Glasgow.

22.05.12 - Ukraine is seeking to reach agreement with Saudi Arabia on supplying as much as 4 million metric tons of barley to the Middle East country, Agriculture Minister Mykola Prysyazhnyuk said. Saudi officials will arrive in Ukraine next month to discuss an accord, Prysyazhnyuk said in a statement e-mailed yesterday. [more]
