Kirin plant to reopen plant in Sendai
Kirin Brewery Co. will resume operations at its Sendai plant on Sept. 26 and start beer shipments in early November, the company has announced. Operations were suspended after the Great East Japan Earthquake on March 11 when the ensuing tsunami toppled four of the 15 vats at the plant, which is located in an industrial complex adjacent to Sendai Port. However, operations will remain at 60 percent of the pre-disaster level for the time being. Power was restored at the plant last Saturday.
