Kirin closes two production plants in Japan
Kirin Holdings Co., the Japanese brewer in talks to merge with Suntory Holdings Ltd., will end production at two domestic breweries as beer sales decline. The Tochigi and Hokuriku plants will close after the peak production period in 2010, Kirin said in a statement today.

Ukraine Seeks 4 Million-Ton Barley Agreement With Saudi Arabia
22.05.12 - Ukraine is seeking to reach agreement with Saudi Arabia on supplying as much as 4 million metric tons of barley to the Middle East country, Agriculture Minister Mykola Prysyazhnyuk said. Saudi officials will arrive in Ukraine next month to discuss an accord, Prysyazhnyuk said in a statement e-mailed yesterday. [more]
