Carlsberg Malaysia wins Green Leadership Award 2010

06.09.10 - Carlsberg Malaysia was accorded the Green Leadership Award 2010 at the Asia Responsible Entrepreneurship Awards (AREA) held in Kuala Lumpur recently. The company won the award for its robust environment management programme at its brewery and the rigorous 3R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) practices at the workplace, positive results and impact from the brewery’s green efforts earned it the Green Leadership award.


Tsingtao Brewery Said to Re-start Expansion

05.09.10 - Tsingtao Brewery Company Limited will re-start its expansion plan in attempt to narrow the gap with Chinese brewery giant China Resources Breweries Co., Ltd., disclosed people close to the matter. The Shanghai-listed brewer is said to acquire a 45% stake in Hangzhou Xihu Beer Asahi Co. Ltd. first to consolidate its presence in East China and plan to march into Henan Province, central China next step.


Anheuser-Busch brewery recognized for environmental initiatives

04.09.10 - Anheuser-Busch’s Houston brewery has been recognized for “taking care of Texas through environmental leadership” by Clean Texas, a statewide program that promotes environmental responsibility. Clean Texas recognized the brewery as a bronze-level member for being “a leader among Texas communities and workplaces” and for achieving significant environmental results to “protect air, water and land resources in Texas.”


Coca-Cola Company Ghana introduces “Schweppes Malt"

03.09.10 - The Coca- Cola Bottling Company of Ghana Limited, has introduced a new product “Schweppes Malt" on the Ghanaian Market. The new product has been launched in Koforidua in the Eastern Region. The new "Schweppes malt" is a non-alcoholic refreshing malt drink enriched with Vitamins B1, B2 and B3. It is made from natural ingredients and offers energy and vitality.

Asahi Breweries to Acquire P&N Beverages of Australia for $323 Million

30.08.10 - Asahi Breweries Ltd., Japan’s second-largest beermaker, will pay A$364 million ($323 million) in cash for soft-drink maker P&N Beverages as it builds on last year’s acquisition of Cadbury Plc’s Australian drinks unit. The takeover of Australia’s third-largest soft-drink maker will be completed by November, Tokyo-based Asahi said in a statement today.

19.09.09 - Individually brewed beers reflect the individuality of breweries and the diversity of beer. Many beer specialities increasingly use special malts. As a result of this trend we have decided to build a malt roasting house in addition to the new logistics centre. The new plant will be used to produce many different special malts in small and large batches. Caramel and roasted malts in particular can be produced and supplied with a colour spectrum ranging from 7 to 1,500 EBC (3 to 550 Lovibond) in line with specific customer wishes.
