Diageo reports net sales growth in first half (6/2010 - 12/2010)
Guinness brewer Diageo has announced organic net sales increased by 4 per cent to £5.3 billion during the six months to 31 December 2010 from £5.2 billion. The drinks company said stronger volume growth and improved price/mix was delivered in North America. Continued momentum in its international segment led to double digit top line growth in the region and top line growth improved in Asia Pacific. Spirits were the driver of overall net sales growth for Diageo, led by scotch, up 6 per cent, and vodka, up 8 per cent.

22.05.12 - Ukraine is seeking to reach agreement with Saudi Arabia on supplying as much as 4 million metric tons of barley to the Middle East country, Agriculture Minister Mykola Prysyazhnyuk said. Saudi officials will arrive in Ukraine next month to discuss an accord, Prysyazhnyuk said in a statement e-mailed yesterday. [more]
