China's beer consumption set to rise
China consumes 40 billion litres of beer annually, or about one-quarter of global beer consumption. And it is set to grow. Research firm Spire said China's beer consumption will expand at a compounded rate of 5 to 10 per cent over the next three to five years. Currently, China consumes 31 litres of beer on a per capita basis, up from 22 litres just five years ago. In comparison, US beer consumption has been at around a constant 80 litres per capita for the last five years.
