Anheuser-Busch taps St. Louis for Draftmark launch
Anheuser-Busch InBev today will roll out a new product in St. Louis that brewery executives hope will become a staple in household refrigerators. But it's not a beer. The brewer is launching a home draft system called Draftmark, which resembles a mod boombox and is about the size of a long 12-pack of soda cans. Draftmark dispenses beer from 1-gallon plastic tubes sold separately, which the system can keep fresh once tapped for up to a month. The brewery will make the units available for sale starting today -- Draftmark's base costs about $50 and beer refills (about eleven 12-ounce pours) are $14 each -- at a select number of Schnucks, Dierbergs and Shop 'n Save stores as well as certain liquor stores around St. Louis.
