A Inbev is negotiating an agreement to save $6 million in taxes on Baldwinsville
Anheuser-Busch Inc. is close to cutting a deal with local governments that will save its huge brewery near Baldwinsville at least $6.24 million in property taxes. The beer maker is negotiating an agreement that would reduce the brewery’s property taxes over 15 years in exchange for the company’s pledge not to close the brewery during that time. Still being negotiated are the terms of a “recapture” agreement in which Anheuser-Busch would agree to pay back at least a portion of its property tax savings if it closes the brewery during the 15 years, said Deputy County Executive Bill Fisher. The Legislature does not have to approve that portion of the agreement, but the town, school district and development agency will, he said.
