25.03.09 - 27.03.09: World Barley, Malt & Beer Conference 2009
(9 - 18 Uhr) The range of presentations for the 2009 Conference maintains the focus of assessing developments in the barley, malt and beer supply chain. A major feature of the programme is a series of “linked” presentations commencing with world cereal production and demand, and ending with a brewer’s perspective of the malt and barley supply situation.

There will be overviews of the barley, malt and beer situation in both Russia and China as well as a review of the barley supply and marketing outlook for Canada and Australia. In addition, there will be an update on the production of ethanol/bio fuels, an assessment of the risk management tools available through the use of futures and/or options markets and the increasingly important topic of carbon emissions in the brewing and malting industry. To complete the diverse agenda, there will be a presentation on winter malting barley and an insight into the Scottish whisky industry.

Braugerste guter Qualität knapp
11.02.12 - Die europäischen Mälzer werden zur Ernte 2012 sofort Anschlussbedarf an Malz und damit Gerste haben. Überhangbestände an Rohware wird es kaum geben. Diese Prognose stellte Michael Fleischer, Geschäftsführer der Grainexx Getreidehandels GmbH, Hamburg, heute auf der Mitgliederversammlung der Arbeitsgemeinschaft zur Förderung des Niedersächsischen Braugerstenanbaues e.V. in Celle. „Es wird überall in Europa eine frühe, reichliche und qualitativ gute Ernte 2012 gebraucht", so Fleischer. 10.02.12 - James Bond trinkt Heineken. Auch wenn eingefleischten Bond-Fans bei dieser Nachricht die Olive im Hals stecken bleiben dürfte. Bevorzugt Bond doch sonst traditionell Wodka Martini - geschüttelt, nicht gerührt. Gleichwohl stellt die Werbekooperation mit der holländischen Brauerei den Bond-Kult nicht in Frage. Ganz im Gegenteil: "Wir sind gespannt auf die globale Reichweite und die Kreativität, die das Heineken-Team uns bringen kann", sagen Michael G. Wilson und Barbara Broccoli, die Produzenten des neuen Bond-Streifens "Skyfall". [mehr]
